BB's first swim (while inside Mummy's tummy)

Went swimming today. During the antenatal class, the physiotherapist said we should exercise because we need stamina for delivery. :P The public swimming pool is very near, about 10 mins walk away but never swam there though we stayed at our flat for nearly 3 years liao. Out of shape, can only swim 6 laps slowly and with break after each lap. But better than nothing, can slowly build up my stamina. Baby kicked me as I was swimming, she swimming insider her water bag. Swimming costume getting a bit short, can see about 0.5cm of my tummy. When I get bigger, may need to buy maternity swimming costume liao. :P

Decided to buy a second hand breast pillow since don't know whether it'll be useful or not. Normal retail price is $80+, second hand selling for $40 and used for less than 10 times. Not very cheap cos someone else selling at only $25 but must self collect at Choa Chu Kang. This seller willing to deliver to Tampines, so saves me the trouble.

Rabbit Hooded Blanket

Saw this hooded blanket at the BP supplier website. Only $7 after discount. So cute, very tempted. :P

Carter Bibs

Online Shopping

Have been shopping online happily for BB. The online motherhood forum that I visit has a lot of Bulk Purchases. Ordered Precious Moments Alphabet Wall Tiles to spell RaeAnne, 3 Carter bibs and Gap reversible blanket to wrap BB in. The Carter Bibs are very cute, only $$2.73 each (Bulk Purchase price), hubby chose no. 1 & 6 (Ducky and Butterfly) while I chose no. 12 (fat Giraffe). Can't wait for the delivery. :)

Belly touching

Always don't know how to react when people reach out to touch my belly without asking. I don't like it because belly is a personal part of my body after all and I have never been the touchy feely type. But I always feel paiseh to tell them off because some people are just curious but they don't know their action is offensive. Even a guy friend has touched my belly without asking before, sigh. :/

Today, I thought of a method without offending anyone. There's a lady in her 40s who just love to touch my belly without asking. Today, as she reached out to touch my belly again, I quickly put my hand there so she has to touch my hand if she wants to touch my belly. She put her hand back. Hee hee. :)

Deciding BB's name

Last night, hubby and I were calling out different names to hear which one sounds nice and BB kicked me. First time, I wasn't sure but she kicked again. Had an idea, told hubby, let's try calling her RaeAnne and see if she responds. Hubby put hand on tummy and called out the name. She kicked. We weren't sure, so he called her again and she kicked again more forcefully this time. Even Hubby was quite surprised and happy that she responded. Looks like we will stick with RaeAnne after all.

Afterwards, we got greedy and started calling her Chinese name Zhang Qihui and Dialect name Teo Kay Ris to see if she will kick again but she didn't. Maybe, she tired or impatient liao. But at least if she were to ask me why I chose this name for her. I can tell her you chose it yourself by kicking Mummy. Hee

Went to the seminar organised by Cordlife today to store BB's cord blood. Asked many questions and the management were able to answer my queries. Got $400 discount today so signed up and collected the kit too. :)

Kicking

Been having light kicks near my bladder or lower stomach since last week. Wasn't sure at first if it's BB moving but since it's lasted for so long, should be her kicking. Gynae said it's called quickening. Guess only when she gets bigger, then it'll progress to real kicks. :)

First Antenatal Class on 14 Sept

Went for my first antenatal lesson at KKH today. Nothing much that I don't already know cos they are covering symptoms of pregnancy today, how the body changes etc. The speaker is a nurse with a very soft voice, nearly put us to sleep. But she was quite patient with questions which is good.

Got a goodie bag upon registration. :)
1) A Lucky Baby gift set (consists of 1 baby hair brush, 1 baby comb, 2 bottle brush, 1 set of mittens, 1 baby rattle, 1 set of baby rattle keys, 1 baby cup, 1 baby bowl (with cover), 1 set of baby spoon and fork, 1 pack of cotton bud)
2) Pigeon baby wipe (trial pack, 3 wipes)
3) Pigeon Disposable Breast Pads (2 sample pcs)
4) 2 packs of Anmum samples
5) Huggies Dry (2 pieces, size S)
6) 1 trial pack of Johnsons baby Soothing naturals Wash & Lotion
7) 1 Lactacyd liquid wash (60ml)
8) 1 trial size Bepanthen ointment (breast care & baby care)
9) 1 bottle of Newater

Love the Lucky Baby gift pack best, it came with an transparent file holder with handle and yellow ribbons. Threw away the Anmum samples. I don't like milk powder. Tried enfamama vanilla and chocolate flavour. But both taste yucks!

More Names

Hubby suddenly thought of using Teo Kay Ris as a dialect name last night yesterday but I thought it didn't sound like Zhang Qihui at all. So, just throw up one more name. Zhang Jiali. Which do you think is best? :)

Kaylis
Charlene

Our Little Gal

We are now thinking of names for our little girl. For English name, we are considering Raeanne or Charlene. For Chinese name, either Zhang Qi2hui4 or Zhang Qi2Jia1. Which do you prefer? Love to have your comments. :)

Photo of BB's face

Here's a scan of BB's face. Hmm... from the photo, looks like BB inherited Daddy's high forehead too, even the arch of the brow bone looks the same but we can only confirm when she's born. ;)

IT"S A GIRL!!!

Finally had my detailed scan at KKH today. Confirmed that we are having a baby girl. Got a princess to dress up and dote on. :) Detailed scan took about 45mins. Everything is normal and gynae said baby's measurements (head circumference, abdomen circumference and thigh bone) are all at the 50th percentile so she's a medium size baby. I'm only 46kg now, gained only 2 kg so far. Looks like all the weight gain went to baby which is good. Can see BB's legs and left hand from the baby's side view scan. Do you think the shape of her lips looks like Daddy's? :)

Maternity clothes

Went to my cousin's house today to visit her new baby boy, who was born on 4 Sept. The baby was sleeping and nursing most of the time. Very guai. Borrowed 2 big paper bags of maternity clothes from her. Don't need to spend money to buy any more maternity clothes liao. :) She recommended her CL to me too, $2400. Can save $200 from the previous quote I got. :)

Back from Malacca

Just came back from my 3D2N Malacca trip at 8+pm tonight. Equatorial hotel was good, glad I decided to upgrade to 5tar instead of staying at Makkota Parade. Service was good and the location was convenient.

Ate lots of good food (peranakan food, otak, hee peow soup, mee suah soup, durian chendol, nonya laksa, chicken rice ball etc). Weighed myself just now and I've hit 50kg!?! When I saw the gynae on 21 Aug, I was only 45.2kg. Don't know if my home weighing machine is spoilt or not. ;P

Even managed to buy baby stuff in Malaysia but not much lar. 3 sets of Pigeon mittens & booties only Rm9.90. Less than SGD4.50. When I bought just 1 set at Metro, it was SGD2.10. 3 bibs for only RM4.95 (1 side waterproof). Saw the elancyl stretchmark cream at Guardian pharmacy, only RM59, about SGD26. I bought mine at $37 after 20% discount. Wanted to buy more but I already have 2 tubes. :P
