Fetal screening
Went to KK for the blood test and ultrasound scan today. The test also called Oscar is used to determine probability of Down Syndrome. When the doctor scanned today, he said he can see the baby's nasal bone and the skin behind the neck (nuchal transparency) is thin. Therefore, things look good so far and the risk of DS for my baby is 1 in 1200. For women in my age group, the probability is 1 in 500. Felt very relieved hearing that. However, this result needs to be combined with a blood test so the final results will be out in 2 days. Baby is now 7.4cm long. The scan is quite detailed, we saw the baby's head (even the brain), arms and legs. :)
