RaeAnne slept before 9pm today, hope it's not a fluke. Latched her on around 8pm after coming back from MIL's place, she drank heartily then when I tried to switched sides, she cried pitifully suddenly. Thought it was strange since there's more milk so she shouldn't be complaining. Tried a few minutes more but she continued crying pitifully so stopped BF and passed her to hubby. Hubby tried to soothe her by carrying, patting and rocking her on bouncer, end up she fell asleep. Moved her to the cot at 11pm thinking if she wakes up, I'll bf her. If not I'll pump. She didn't wake up so I'm pumping instead.
Put her on bumper mat to crawl today at MIL's place, she shuffled/crawled backwards instead. Haha.

BB has GROWN!!
Our dear BB RaeAnne has grown!
She is now approximately 66 cm and weighs 7.2 kg.
No wonder our arms ache faster when we carry her these days.

Our Nightbird RaeAnne
RaeAnne has been sleeping later and later since last week. Gone are the days when she'll sleep at 9:30pm after I BF her. Last night, was a new record, she slept at 11pm and woke up at 2am then 5am wide awake liao. It was a crazy work week this week so I also lost my patience with her.
Trying to get ILs to let her sleep lesser in the day so that she'll sleep better at night. But they always insist that she did not sleep much without quantifying how much she actually slept leh cos they don't keep track. :(
Managed to accumulate 5 bags of frozen EBM so far and it's the weekend again. Very happy, if continue to latch on round the clock this weekend, maybe can store more and reach my target of 6months for TBF. :)

BM DD outstripping SS
RaeAnne is 5 mths and 1 week old today. This whole week, I've been a super hardworking cow because RaeAnne has wiped out Mummy's frozen stock. :P Need to pump after latch in order to build up BM reserves again. MIL suggested giving FM or cereals but me trying to hold onto to 6mths if possible because of WHO recommendation that Babies should be TBF until 6 mths. Already bought 3 different types of rice cereals to standby though if really not enough milk. Still got 3/4 tin of Enfalac from her 2nd month too. Mummy didn't venture far this weekend cos need to latch on all the time to pump more BM. Also got up everyday at 3+, 4+am to pump. Very stressed! Hope I can succeed in my quest. If try my best, still cannot then bo bian got to start solids/FM early.
Last Thursday, RaeAnne could sit unsupported on hubby's lap but we were at ILs place, no camera so couldn't take her photo. :P
Yesterday afternoon, we went to ILs place. FIL was carrying RaeAnne. As I was talking to him, she turned around to face me, and held out one arm as if she wanted me to carry. Felt so happy that she's finally recognising this Mummy, was quite worried cos she spends most of her waking moments with Ye Ye and Nai Nai. Her reaching out to me really melted my heart. :)

Father's Day
Yesterday was Father's Day. Wanted to celebrate with hubby but he didn't want cake so we had dinner at Pastamania (hubby's choice). He had spicy chicken fusili while I had the new mentaiko (spicy cod roe) linguine. I liked the linguine though hubby's pasta was a bit too spicy. :P Bought hubby a plastic card to commomerate his first papa day. Happy Belated Father's Day!!! What would we do without you?
Had to ask LC to do home visit again. Sigh, kenna blocked ducts cos did side lying position to feed bb and did not pump regularly cos was on leave so went out. We stayed at fairmont singapore on Fri night, went to PC show. Spent nearly 5 hours there including waiting for the stock of my chosen laptop to arrive. Finally bought a HP entertainment pavillion notebook for $2199. Once we sign up for wireless surf, can use it to surf net in the bedroom where bb is sleeping. More convenient. :)
Weighed RaeAnne today, she's now 6.8kg. All the suffering with BF is worth it when she's gaining weight healthily. She gained 0.5 kg in 2 weeks. :)

Updating header
A Feb 08 mummy thought I was pregnant again when she read this blog for the first time!?! Haha, realise the header info is misleading and needs to be updated. Taken it down but post it here for memory's sake. ;)
Welcome to the New Piggy Family
After trying for some time, we conceived naturally and tested positive on 25 May 2007. We'll be welcoming a piggy baby to our family on 1 Feb 2008! We are first time parents and first time bloggers, wanted to give baby a diary to read when he/she grows up and share with everyone our experiences... :)

A happening day
RaeAnne experienced many 'firsts' today. She had her first professional hair cut by Hua Xia cos we wanted to do "taimaobi" for her. The calligraphy pen design we chose for the maobi was 'endorsed' by her as she grabbed it out of 3 different pens. Hee. We also brought her swimming at Punggol Plaza, FINALLY convinced hubby. She enjoyed herself but started crying after 10 mins cos she kicked so hard and exhausted herself. Then she had a baby massage. After all that, I bf her and she slept so well in her stroller that hubby and I could have a leisurely late lunch at food court. Heng ah. :)

RaeAnne's 2nd 6-in-1 jab
Poor RaeAnne has fever on Sunday after her 2nd 6-in-1 vaccination on Sat morning. She was quite guai at the clinic, curiously looking around, esp at the mirror behind the sofa. Cried only for a short while when taking the rotavirus medication. The jab was very fast so she didn't notice.
Fed her panadol syrup when we came back at 12+pm and again at 2-3am. So, no fever on Sat but fever started on Sun late morning when hubby is out. Luckily my mum was with me, I was pumping milk when she told me RaeAnne felt a bit hot. Tested with ear thermometer and it was 37.3 but her back and tummy felt quite hot, waited for hubby to come back then gave her panadol syrup. And she spit out 1/3 of it, think the taste wasn't good cos she cried when we forced her to drink. She was listless, and didn't want to drink milk the whole day.
So busy sponging and looking after her that I have no time to pump. Developed a lump/blocked duct on left breast. Ouch ouch! :(
